A Bit About Iyashia
Hello and Welcome! As a licensed Social Worker, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective mental health support. With a commitment to fostering a safe and non-judgmental space, I collaborate with individuals to navigate challenges, promote self-discovery, and enhance overall well-being.
I specialize in Trauma-Informed Therapy, Anxiety and Depression Therapy, Grief Counseling, and Child and Adolescent Therapy, I bring a wealth of experience in helping clients navigate Women's Issues, Depression, Anxiety, Personal Growth and Self-esteem, LGBTQ, Crisis Intervention, Trauma, and General Mental Health. My therapeutic approach is tailored to meet individual needs, drawing on evidence-based modalities to achieve positive outcomes.
I earned my master’s degree from Yeshiva University and have completed additional training in motivational interviewing, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), acceptance, commitment, and trauma-informed/focused therapy. This foundation equips me with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of mental health and effective therapeutic interventions.
I believe in the power of collaboration and working with clients to develop personalized strategies for growth, resilience, and positive change.
My process when working with clients is to empower clients to build on their strengths, overcome challenges, and create a life that aligns with their values and aspirations. In the initial session, facts will be gathered at a smooth and calm tempo. As we progress in the session, the client will take the lead, and I, in return, will be present in the moment by providing active listening and coping strategies that clients can use and add to their toolbox for future reference.
