A Bit About Erin
Welcome. I have over 10 years of experience working with a diverse population of individuals, including 7 years of client-centered, strength-based talk therapy with individuals in need. I am a passionate and empathetic therapist with strong counseling abilities and an understanding of interpersonal familial relationships. My experience includes leading clients through challenging and sometimes traumatic life experiences, parenting support, and family dynamic challenges. Through clinical experience, compassion, and empathy, I support and assist those looking to make a positive difference in their lives. I pride myself in providing a safe and supportive space for my clients to work side by side in overcoming traumas and life barriers.
Although I work with people of all ages and populations, the bulk of my work has been with BIPOC individuals, children, and families, addressing family challenges and individual struggles and providing parental support. I am fully committed to active listening and offering my best professional practices to empower you.
My approach is always culturally sensitive, client-centered, and strengths-based. I utilize CBT techniques and mindful practices to encourage and empower my clients regardless of the circumstances they bring to our session. My belief is that everyone has the ability to improve their life.
Generally, there are 1-2 initial sessions where I learn more about you and why you are seeking therapy. I would like to know your expectations from me as your therapist and from this experience. Most sessions are talk therapy, whether you have a topic of discussion or we participate in meaningful dialogue around topics and activities that can support you in your growth.
Sessions with children and youth usually begin with a check-in with both youth and parent. Then, the child/youth and I will have our discussion or activity for the session, whether it’s a topic the youth has on their mind (preferred) or a topic I use to support healthy social-emotional practices for that youth.
